สมาคมอุตสาหกรรมเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ (ATCI) ร่วมกับสำนักงานส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมซอฟต์แวร์แห่งชาติ (SIPA) ได้จัดการประกวดซอฟต์แวร์ Thailand ICT Awards (TICTA) มาอย่างต่อเนื่องทุกปี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะคัดเลือกผู้ชนะเลิศไปแข่ง Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) เป็นงานประกวดผลิตภัณฑ์ทางด้านซอฟต์แวร์ของประเทศในกลุ่ม Asia Pacific โดยมีประเทศสมาชิก 16 ประเทศ และจากการประกวด APICTA ที่ผ่านมาก็เคยมีบริษัทและหน่วยงานในประเทศไทยที่ได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศ หลายๆรางวัลดังที่ผมเคบเขียนลงในบล็อกเรื่อง “บริษัทและหน่วยงานจากประเทศไทยที่เคยได้รับรางวัล APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Awards)”
สำหรับการประกวดปีนี้มีประเภทการประกวด 18 กลุ่มและทางคณะกรรมการตัดสินได้ดำเนินการคัดเลือกผลงานในรอบแรกช่วงเดือนกรกฎาคม และจะทำการตัดสินรอบสุดท้ายในวันที่ 21-23 สิงหาคมนี่ โดยให้ผู้ผ่านการคัดเลือกมาแสดงผลงานที่ Siam Paragon และจะประกาศผลผู้ชนะเลิศและมีพิธีมอบรางวัลในเวลา 16.00 น. ของวันที่ 23 สิงหาคม ทั้งนี้ผู้ขนะเลิศ TICTA จะได้ไปแข่ง APICTA 2105 ที่จัดขึ้นที่ประเทศศรีลังกา กลางเดือนพฤศจิกายน
